Toast to Glee on TV

Yay for being home at last! After a long week of car rides... from the bay, to the valley, to the other valley (LA) and back to the first valley. I think I've put in enough hours in the car to last me a few months. Needless to say, it's good to be home in my own bed. Anyway, the real point of this post is to talk about my latest tv love. last week i watched the first episode of "Glee" on Fox and i think we're gonna have good time together. it's like highschool musical for those of us who are too old to admit we enjoyed the first one.

So maybe I'm no longer twelve and have no business mooning over zac effron, I can still enjoy a good sing along on prime time. At least this time they're using real songs :)
Under the fake cut is my quick toast to glee and it's cast, clickyclicky!

It's been a long time BUT...

Finally a new Toast! This has been one hell of a grueling semester and hopefully I pass all of the the necessary courses. Since I've been so unfaithful to my weeking toasts, I've put together three which will hopefully make up for that somewhat. The toasts for today are paying respects to:
-Motion City Soundtrack
-All Time Low
-Noah and the Whale

The first two have been with me for some time now, the last is the most recent addition to my music library. I love Motion because they're lyrics are worth listening to, which is a rare compliment nowadays I'm afraid. Also, the vocals are entertaining and the guitar solos are worth listening to. All Time Low has been a favorite of mine ever since I saw them in concert with Boys Like Girls and We the Kings at Warfield. Great concert, and All Time Low won my heart with both talent and charisma (they are HOTT). Noah and the Whale is a favorite of mine mostly based on charm. They're quirky and interesting and a little strange which I appreciate. 5 Years Time is super cute and I even went as far as to learn the chords for the uke so I could sing it. :)
Okay, enough words, here are my fave songs:

P.S. Yay Finals are done, let the (short) summer commense! Time for some fun in the sun, I think :)

Spring Break Fail

So among other things that fail in my life...spring break.

I had three glorious days of nothingness, but now I'm doing the catch-up-marathon. With all the other sh*t I have to do after I get back to the UC my, personal time has been taken over by the haunts of my pre-midterm evils and to-dos. The real question is, when will she catch a REAL break. Sorry, no toasts/any other kine amusement (tho I do have some things courtesy of my broforlife holly). Soon I hope to share my joys again.
XOXO

Oh, Nicholas Cage... :(

So I still fail at doing my toast for the last two weeks, but in the meantime...I was looking for music on myspace (i know, fail) and I stumbled upon this piece of work

Oh, Nick. You need to get yourself. Seriously dude, you do the same kinds of movies all the time now. I mean, I loved you in Family Man and I guess I enjoyed National Treasure (I not II because II was pathetic...more on that later). But DUDE, why do you play the same role all the time? And what was up with Ghost Rider? Ouch. Love that face on the Knowing poster though, hilarious.

Fails

I miss having a life. Me and my life were best buds, then responsibility stepped in. Now I feel like we've drifted apart. And what hurts most is that from here, I can still see my life, not so far off, wading about in the butterscotch of childhood and summertime. Meanwhile I'm kicking with aching muscles to stay a float.

Tell me why I'm doing this again?

P.S. TTMR will be up soon (tonight) if I get a chance.

Lazinessss

So, I ran out of clean spoons today. Which normally isn't a problem, except I wanted to make hot cocoa. Solution: use a knife. I even one-upped myself and used a plastic knife I got from a take-out place.

The Evidence.

And because I can, I'm going to lie about the music I'm listening to. Because it's like

"A traffic jam when youre already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
Its like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
Its meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isnt it ironic... dont you think?
A little too ironic... and yeah I really do think..."

And yes, I use comtrex, I was sick last week. I don't really like Peet's Coffee, I needed to spend meal points last year and that cup was all that was left. And the Maui hat is just for show, I actually cannot wear hats unless I want to look like a total dufus (you already are one, zing).

Another week! I'm toasting RaRaRiot this week. I love them, period. I heart their vocals and the arrangements, great lyrics. Not to mention that they have a nice mix of guys and girls which adds alot creatively. PS love their look.

Also, a quick Toast to Youtube.
Some fun clips

I never get tired of the first clip, it's such an awesome concept and the execution is perfect in my opinnion.
And yes, I do love the Little Mermaid. In fact, I love all things Disney. I can't wait for a chance to see this on Broadway. The actress who plays Ariel,Sierra Boggess, does a fantastic job. :)

But if she doesn't work out... there's always Nick Pitera

LOLZ :D

Toast to My Radio

Kind of a quick entry today. But still, one of my favorite bands.

Photobucket

I heart these guys, their sound is not so much pop/rock/indie it's sorta different so I can't really describe. Just know that I love them and that's reason enough. P.S. they're pretty frinkin cute too.

EVERYBODY ELSE! :) forgive my lame artwork this week. i'll try harder next time.

Nick & Norah's

Just finished watching N&NIP for the second time, and I loved it twice(2x). The tracks in that movie make me smile to no end and Michael Cera + Kat Dennings = match made in heaven. I mean, i'm a Juno fan, but the characters in NNIP are too perfect for words. I could live in that world. thatisallgoodnight.

Dirty Dishes

So it's Friday. I don't have class (minus the 8AM, but I'm barely conscious in that class). I've got a pile of hw threatening me with evil stares and an even larger pile of dirty dishes. After a relatively unsuccessful night of partying, I face the music. The question is...how long will it take to clean those dishes? Long enough to justify putting off hw for another evening?

Toast to My Radio

I've been wanting to do this for a while now, so maybe I'll actually keep this up. I've decided to keep things toasty and do a weekly tribute to my favorite music artists, highlighting my favorite song titles. This week, since it is the first, had to be special. That's why I've chosen Regina Spektor as my first featured artist.

She's original, she's talented, and her lyrics make you THINK. Thanks to you Regina for never giving in to what mainstream music has done to other artist. Your songs range from fun and clever to heartbreaking and soulful. I bow to your greatness.

Twilight Cast at VMAs

So the VMAs were pretty exciting overall. Here's some of my favs:

7) Slip Knot presents Best Hip Hop award...weirdest group of people on one stage, EVER. Did anyone else feel like there was some AWKWARD goin on?
6) Pink Performs "So What" I love Pink. She has such a bad ass attitude and no one seems to care. The "music video" vibe at the beginning was fun, with the smashing and pushing and fire! Thanks Pink for being awesome and talented.
5) Brittany wins 3...conspiracy. WTF? haha, I mean I like her sometimes, so no offense. But was it a pity vote?
4) Russell Brand Steals Jonas Brother's Thunder Brand was just insulting all sorts of people, but hey he's a comedian of sorts and they get away with that kind of thing all the time. Anyway, lesson learned. Don't mess with the Jonas' virtues. SRSLY.
3) Jordan Sparks Comback I felt like there should have been a "BIAAATCH!" tagged to the end of her little impromptu speech. I LOL'd pretty hard. Dear GOD!NOT THE VIRTUE!!!
2) "I'm Fucking Trashed!" Nuff said. McLovin, I heart you. Made my frickin day.
1) Twilight Cast They all looked really hot. Taylor still bugs me a little with his little boy voice (just not quite Jacob to me yet) but he was very cute in that vest. Love the teeth. Rob looked really clean(er that usual) and I think we've had an epiphany because they got smart and made him get his eyebrows done. No one should have to sport a unibrow. TRUFAX.
Now..about that chest hair...

and, even though it won't be back until early 2009
6. Kyle XY

Wonderland LOVE

So maybe I'm a little slow, but I recently learned that Tim Burton will be directing a liveaction version of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". You can see the IMDB [HERE].

And there's a article on [Rotten Tomatoes] that goes a little more in depth about the 2 movie deal Burton struck with Disney. As of now, only the actress playing Alice has been confirmed, but EW has a "well-informed source" that confirms Johnny Depp will have the role of Mad Hatter. [EW Article]

While I love the idea of Depp working with Burton again, I'm not sure how I feel about it being done in 3-D. Also, Depp is a far cry from Disney's first rendition of the Mad Hatter.

Hmmm....

Anyway, in my excitement, I made a new Alice themed wallpaper and posted it on my DA account. Check it out!
